Rhinestone Project Flower Pot

This project was SO much fun! I decorated a clay pot with "paintable" caulk which can be found in most any hardware section near the paints. It came in a tube and was very easy to apply. After that was dry, I spray painted the entire thing with a satin finish spray paint. (Don't use glossy, the rhinestones won't stick as well.) Again, after that dried, I applied the peridot green color hot fix rhinestones using the BeJeweler Pro hot fix tool. Using a stencil brush, I dry brushed very lightly some white craft paint. Then the whole thing got a couple of coats of clear indoor/outdoor spray sealer.

Now here's the amazing part... This very cute flowerpot sat outside on my patio from early spring until fall through all the heat of summer and other weather conditions. Not ONE hot fix rhinestone fell off! It looked in October exactly like it did in May! Try one for yourself!

Update:  The pot has been outside for 1 year now in Arkansas weather.  The paint is wearing a bit but the rhinestones are ALL still there! I think I should have put a couple of extra coats of sealer on it to keep the paint better.
